Course Descriptions

CAOHC Certification Course:

All courses are approved by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). Courses are provided for nurses, physicians, medical assistants, safety specialists, industrial hygienists, and other related professionals. This course will focus on the practical application of each element of an effective Hearing Conservation Program. Special emphasis is placed on federal & state regulations, hearing testing, hearing loss, hearing protection devices, Standard Threshold Shift, OSHA recordability and workers’ compensation. A supervised practicum will enable participants to gain “hands-on” experience in proper technique in administering case histories, otoscopy, and audiometric screenings.

CAOHC Recertification Course:

The recertification course is offered on the second day of the full-certification course.
