Board Certified Audiologist

Dr. John Elmore, AuD, MBA, is a board-certified audiologist. He has over 40 years experience in hearing conservation, clinical audiology, research and development, workers’ compensation, and occupational and environmental health. As defined by OSHA, Dr. Elmore is a certified professional supervisor in the field of hearing conservation.

Dr Elmore is a certified Hearing Conservation Professional Supervisor (CPS/A) and a fellow in the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA). The Council of Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) has frequently ranked Precision Hearing’s certification training for nurses and technicians as the number one most frequently attended course in the nation. After establishing a consulting practice in 1996, Precision Hearing has steadily grown to become one of the most successful and widely respected practices of its kind in the nation. Outstanding service is provided to numerous clients coast to coast particularly in the areas of manufacturing and mining. His expert testimony has resulted in the successful legal defense of several noise-related issues.

As a former military audiologist, Dr. Elmore (Retired, LtCol, USAF) established the first, base-wide Army and Air Force Hearing Conservation Programs. As consultant to the Surgeon General, he was responsible for overseeing the programs at 350 Air Force installations by examining the hearing test results, patient referral rates, and clinical disposition of over 250,000 exposed employees. He identified program deficiencies, made appropriate recommendations, and provided on-site consultant services. He has represented the United States as a member of the NATO committee on health effects from low-altitude aircraft noise and has served on the Executive Boards of several national professional organizations.

As the chief of the Air Force’s largest Audiology and Speech Pathology Clinic, Dr. Elmore provided the full range of Audiological services to include physician, nurse, and technician training.

He has lectured at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and the National Science Academy in Washington, D.C and is frequently invited as a guest speaker. Dr. Elmore has served on the faculty of Our Lady of the Lake University’s Graduate School.
