Modern Hearing Aids, Selected to Fit Your Life
Precision Hearing fits modern hearing aids in San Antonio, TX for working adults and veterans across Bexar County. Because we're manufacturer-independent, recommendations come from your audiogram, your lifestyle, and your daily listening — not a sales quota. Every fitting is delivered by a Doctor of Audiology, includes a real-life trial period, and is verified before you wear devices home. These are unhurried, counseling-based decisions — never high-pressure retail.
Real Ear Measurement Verifies Every Fitting
Your devices are fit by Drs. Joseph Pratt and Nathan Ortiz — both US Navy veterans who ran the service's largest hearing conservation programs at Naval Station San Diego and Naval Station Norfolk. Every fitting at our Babcock Road office is verified with Real Ear Measurement (REM), the gold standard recommended by the American Academy of Audiology yet performed by only about 30% of fitters nationally. TriWest, BCBS, and lifetime service are built in.
30-Day Hearing Aid Trial Period
Every set of hearing aids fitted at Precision Hearing in San Antonio, TX comes with a 30-day trial period. Wear your devices where life actually happens — at work, around the dinner table, on a job site, and out across San Antonio. Real-world listening is the only test that counts. If they aren't the right fit within 30 days, bring them back so we can adjust them, exchange them for a different model, or explore another option together.

Hearing Aid FAQs
The hearing aid questions we hear most at Precision Hearing in San Antonio — independent brand selection, Real Ear Measurement, insurance, VA Community Care, and lifetime service.
Precision Hearing is manufacturer-independent — we hold no exclusive contracts with any single hearing aid company. Our Doctors of Audiology select from a curated list of today's leading manufacturers based on what fits your audiogram, your daily listening environments, your dexterity, and your budget, never a sales quota.
Across those manufacturers you'll find rechargeable, Bluetooth-streaming, and discreet styles that cover mild to profound hearing loss, plus built-in tinnitus management programs. The simplest way to compare your options is side-by-side at the office, where you can see and handle the devices. Call (210) 695-4708 to book a consultation at our Babcock Road clinic in San Antonio.
Selection starts with a comprehensive hearing evaluation. Your Doctor of Audiology maps the degree and shape of your hearing loss in each ear, then sits down with you to talk through the situations where listening is hardest — work meetings, restaurants, family at home, the phone — alongside your dexterity, your comfort with technology, and your budget.
From there we recommend the device, style, and feature set that fit your real life, not a one-size-fits-all package. Because we're not tied to a single manufacturer, the recommendation is honestly yours. Appointments are unhurried — nobody is rushed toward a sale. Call (210) 695-4708 to schedule your evaluation at our San Antonio office.
We fit every major style, including behind-the-ear (BTE), receiver-in-canal (RIC), in-the-ear (ITE), in-the-canal (ITC), and completely-in-canal (CIC) models, plus near-invisible options for patients who want the most discreet device possible. Smaller in-canal styles favor cosmetic discretion, while RIC and BTE designs leave room for rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth streaming, and longer wearing time.
The right style depends on your degree of hearing loss, your ear anatomy, your dexterity, and how visible you want the device to be. We walk you through the trade-offs so you leave the consultation knowing what you chose and why. Compare them on our hearing aid styles page, or call (210) 695-4708.
Precision Hearing is currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (Texas), TriWest (which administers TRICARE and VA Community Care in the South-Central region), and Workers' Compensation. Hearing aid coverage still varies plan-to-plan, so we verify your specific benefits before any device is ordered — confirming what your policy includes, billing your carrier when allowed, and giving you a clear out-of-pocket estimate up front.
If your plan covers only part of the cost — or none of it — we'll walk through CareCredit and in-house monthly payment options (no credit checks, no third-party loans). See our financing options page, or call (210) 695-4708 to talk through your numbers with our Patient Care Coordinator.
Yes. Precision Hearing is a VA Community Care Network provider (Group NPI 1386343341) and is in-network with TriWest, the federal administrator for VA Community Care and TRICARE in the South-Central region. Veterans can be seen here under Community Care once a VA primary care provider sends an Audiology referral to the CCN.
After the referral is in the system, call the CCN at (210) 949-3850 to confirm receipt and request Precision Hearing by name, then call our clinic at (210) 695-4708 to schedule. Both co-owners are US Navy veterans, so the paperwork and the conversation are familiar territory. See our veterans hearing care page for the full workflow.
Yes — your hearing aids come with ongoing care, not just a one-time fitting. We handle cleanings, minor in-house repairs, and follow-up adjustments, and we use Real Ear Measurement (REM) to confirm your devices keep performing the way they should as your hearing changes over time. Many small issues are resolved on the spot while you wait.
We also repair devices not originally purchased here and coordinate manufacturer repairs when a deeper fix is needed. Loaner devices are available so you're not left without hearing during the turnaround, and we stock common batteries and supplies. Learn more on our hearing aid repairs page, or call (210) 695-4708.
