CAOHC Certification Course:
The CAOHC Certification course, approved by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC), is provided for nurses, physicians, medical assistants, safety specialists, industrial hygienists, and other related professionals. This course will focus on the practical application of each element of an effective Hearing Conservation Program. Special emphasis is placed on federal & state regulations, hearing testing, hearing loss, hearing protection devices, STS, OSHA recordability and workers’ compensation. A supervised practicum will enable participants to gain “hands-on” experience in proper technique in administering case histories, otoscopic, and audiometric evaluations.
CAOHC Recertification Course:
The recertification course is offered on the second day of the three-day certification course.
A one day course designed for audiologists, physicians (professional supervisor) and other health professionals. Case studies, clinical characteristics of specific hearing losses, audiogram interpretation, STS, OSHA reportability, work-relatedness and patient disposition will be discussed.
